What To Expect

When working with Chy, you can expect to be driven toward excellence through hardwork, exploration, and a great deal of fun. Chy helps our singers feel welcome and achieves beautiful choral singing with engaging charisma, playful whimsy, and a deep knowledge base. With a passion for bringing all parts of the community together in harmony, Chy is fluent in ASL (American Sign Language) and is an active participant in Deaf community events.

Chy is the music teacher and choir director at Arbor Creek Elementary in Olathe and serves as section leader and Children’s Choir Director for Rolling Hills Church in Overland Park. Chy holds a master’s degree from Wichita State University and teaching certification through Fort Hays State University. He also received additional voice study from Bowling Green State University (OH). In addition to teaching and directing, Chy also enjoys occasionally performing with opera and musical theater companies. Outside of music, Chy is also passionate about the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community and making music accessible to people with varying abilities
